Competitive Power Index, which
measures the competitive power
of countries places Turkey 46

the 42 countries in Europe and

among the 15 countries of the
Mediterranean.
In today’s world, where
technology advances at a dizzying
pace, the advances in the field
of communications effect the
tourism sector and cause just like
it does in every sector. Tourism is
in need of new developments to
grant momentum to the tourism
sector and to minimize the effects
of international crises. Along with
developing technology, views on
the future of global tourism – a
sector dealing intimately with
people – point to the fact that
the route of tourism is shifting
towards Asia.
