The foundations for the
Halkalı Customs

complex has been laid

The foundations Halkalı
Customs Directorate’s New
Facilities in Büyükçekmece which
will be built with the build-operate-
transfer model by the Customs
and Commerce Enterprises Co Inc
(GTİ), an affiliate of the Union
of Chambers and Commodity
Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), have
been laid.
Planned for completion in
the March of 2014, attending
the foundation laying ceremony
of the new logistics center were
the Customs and Commerce
Minister Hayati Yazıcı, Customs
and Commerce Ministry
Undersecretary Ziya Altunyaldız,
TOBB President M. Rifat
Hisarcıklıoğlu, Turkey Exporters
Council (TİM) President Mehmet
Büyükekşi, GTİ President Arif
Parmaksız, Grand National
Assembly members, bureaucrats
as well as chamber and exchange
presidents.
Hosted by the National
Education Ministry, the Organization
for Economic Co-operation and
Development (OECD) Education
Ministers Unofficial Meeting took
place in İstanbul. Held bi-annually and
heralded as one the most important
meetings of the OECD, this year’s
meeting’s theme is“The Proliferation
of Relevant Skills and Increasing
Employment.”
