Are
visa procedures
for Turkey being lifted?

Recently, relations between
Turkey and European Union
(EU) have begun to grow closer,
if only slightly. It seems that we
are in a process which involves
bilateral efforts to remedy past
mistakes with regards to addeds
effect of uncertainty and the
deteriorating conditions of
Turkey’s region.
One of the developments
which drew the most public
attention in Turkey – EU
relations was the approval of
the Road Map on the 16th
of December, 2013 which
addresses preparations for
lifting visas for Turkey in EU
and signing the Readmission
Agreement, initiating visa
dialogue with the EU.
The business dinner organized
by the Union of Chambers and
Commodity Exchanges of Turkey
(TOBB) and Turkish-German Chamber
of Commerce and Industry (TATSO),
was held in Ankara, hosted by TOBB
President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu.
Speaking at the opening of the
meeting, TOBB President M. Rifat
Hisarcıklıoğlu stressed the importance
they put on the development of
economic relations between the
two countries. One of the dinner’s
guests, Minister of Customs and
Commerce, Hayati Yazıcı stated that
they value relations with the business
world and strive to solve problems
through arbitration. Minister Yazıcı
drew attention to the fact that capital
prefers safe environments, said,“The
best environment for that reason is
Turkey.”

The World Botanical EXPO, with
its
“Children & Flowers”
theme,
will be held in Antalya in 2016
The world will experience the
thrill of EXPO with its 100 years
of history in Antalya for the first
time, in 2016 with the Botanical
EXPO 2016. Coordianted by the
Food, Agriculture and Livestock
Ministry, the “Children & Flowers”
themed Botanical EXPO is to be
held in Antalya, as per the vote
held in Paris during the Bureau
of International Expositions
(BIE) General Assembly and
officiated by Antalya. Western
Mediterranean Agricultural
Research Institute (BATEM) is
preparing 90 acres in Antalya
for the EXPO. It is expected that
approximately 8 million visitors
will attend EXPO 2016, bringin in
4 billion EUROs for Antalya.
