Is global instability
decreasing?
As the sixth year of the
global crisis comes to a close, the
world is still struggling with the
damages of the crisis. 2014 is
widely expected to be a year for
increased growth figures from
developed countries, especially
the USA, however it is evident
that quite a few parameters are
still below pre-crisis levels. For
example, the American economy
is still providing 1.3 million fewer
jobs than pre-crisis. This shows
that it is still too early to claim
that the crisis is past.
TEPAV Economy Studies
Analyst Sarp Kalkan states
that the year of 2014 is widely
expected to be one increased
growth figures from developed
countries – however, figures are
still far behind those encountered
prior to the crisis and draws
attention to an emergent
stabilizing effect on global
instability.
