A
ksaray is one of the oldest settlements in Anatolia,
the cradle of many cultures and civilizations. It is
also one of the cities that have assumed a historical
mission due to its geographical position and strategic
importance. Located in the South-eastern part of Cent-
ral Anatolia and serving as one of the important hubs
along the ancient Silk Road, Aksaray stands at the cros-
sroads of the major connection routes stretching from
all the cardinal directions. The main sources of income
in the city are agriculture and livestock breeding and
raising. However, the city needs more irrigation water
and a strong transportation network to further develop
in these industries.

rriving in China alongside Turkish
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to
attend the G20 Summit, TOBB Chairman
M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu was present at the
opening ceremony for the B20 Summit
(Business World Summit).
Among those attending the ceremony
held in Hangzhou, the capital city of the
state of Zhejiang to the west of China,
were Chinese President Xi Jinping, South
African President Jacob Zuma, Canadian
PM Justin Trudeau, and TOBB Chairman M.
Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu.
Speaking at the“Inclusive and Interconnec-
ted Growth”session, held in Hangzhou as part
of the B20 China Summit, TOBB and B20 Tur-
key Chair M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu highlighted
the need for clearing the way for more trade.
